What is the construction and purpose of front fenders?

Front fenders are external body panels mounted above the front wheels, on the left and right sides of the vehicle. A typical element consists of the shell, stiffening ribs, mounting edges, and holes for screws, clips, or additional equipment. Their primary task is to shield the wheel arch area and maintain the correct body line at the hood, headlight, and bumper.

What are front fenders used for?

Front fenders are used to limit the spray of water, mud, and small stones thrown by rotating wheels. They also protect adjacent body elements from dirt and partially from operational damage. In addition to their protective function, they influence the car's aesthetics, gap alignment, and the visual consistency of the entire front of the car.

What role does the fender mount play?

The fender mount is a system of holes, edges, and contact points that allow the part to be set in the correct position. It is responsible for the stability of the panel, correct alignment relative to the headlight and hood, and maintaining even gaps. In practice, one must check not only the holes themselves but also the condition of the rims, threads, and contact points with the body.

How to choose a front fender for a specific car version?

The safest way is to compare the OEM part number, interchangeable numbers, mounting side, and body version. Differences between pre-facelift/post-facelift versions, the presence of holes for trim or turn signals, and compatibility with the specific vehicle's equipment also matter. In case of doubt, it is worth verifying the part by VIN or comparing it with the removed element.

What symptoms indicate that a front fender requires replacement or repair?

The most common symptoms are corrosion on the wheel arch rim, cracks, dents, and problems with alignment with the hood or bumper. Rubbing against the inner wheel arch, an unnatural gap at the headlight, or loose mounts may also indicate a need for inspection. If the damage affects the installation of adjacent elements, replacement is usually a more practical solution than a makeshift repair.

What data in the offer should be noted before purchase?

When describing a product, it is worth checking the brand, condition, OEM part number, interchangeable numbers, placement on the vehicle, and color. This information helps assess whether the part will be compatible with a specific car version and whether it requires painting or additional equipment. It is also good to ensure that mounting points are preserved and that the part has not been improperly repaired previously.
