Purpose and function in the vehicle

The interior door puddle lamp is responsible for illuminating the area by the threshold and the lower part of the upholstery when the door is opened. In the Jaguar XK8 X100 model, this component is an integral part of the door trim, working in conjunction with the vehicle's electrical system and interior lighting control unit. The placement on the left side of the vehicle allows for precise fitting to the specific door upholstery, without the need for modifying mounts or wiring. This ensures correct installation geometry and proper light dispersion in the lower part of the cabin.

Benefits of using an original Jaguar lamp

Using a factory-original door puddle lamp in a Jaguar XK8 X100 ensures:

• consistent fit to the shape and finish of the door upholstery,
• proper compatibility with the original electrical system,
• preservation of the uniform color and character of the interior lighting,
• reduced risk of installation issues compared to universal replacements. A used, original component from this series allows for a technically correct repair without interfering with the door structure, which is particularly important in premium vehicles such as Jaguar.

Integration with Jaguar XK8 X100 door upholstery

The lamp was designed as part of a group of elements referred to as Door Upholstery, meaning its shape, mounting method, and cable routing are adapted to the factory door panel. As a result, installation is orderly, and the assembly maintains aesthetics consistent with the design of the Jaguar XK8 X100 interior. In practice, this means:

• stable seating in the door panel without play or tension,
• no need for modifications to mounting holes,
• easier removal in case of future service work on the door upholstery.

Application in the repair and restoration process

This component is suitable for both typical replacement of a damaged lamp and more extensive restoration of a Jaguar XK8 X100 interior. Choosing an original door puddle lamp allows you to maintain the stylistic consistency of the cabin and preserve the factory standard of workmanship, which is significant for collector cars and well-maintained GT class vehicles. If you are planning a comprehensive repair or upgrade of the door area in your Jaguar and need other elements from the same group, such as door cards, decorative inserts, or door pockets, check the available parts in the Jaguar Door Upholstery category.

Additional service information

When replacing the door puddle lamp, it is worth paying attention to the condition of electrical connectors and seals within the upholstery to ensure stable power supply and protection against moisture.
