Purpose and function in the center console

The cigarette lighter socket panel cover is a component from the Console Parts group, responsible for the aesthetic and functional finishing of the interior accessory power zone. Using a dedicated, original component allows you to:

• maintain a consistent look of the center console in the Audi A4 B8 and Audi A5 8T,
• reduce the accumulation of dirt in the cigarette lighter socket area,
• preserve ergonomic access to the power socket,
• minimize the risk of accidental damage to the connector.

Construction, fitment, and installation

The element is designed as an Audi OEM part, which means full dimensional compatibility with the factory center console in the listed models. The cover's construction is prepared for installation in the original mounting points, without the need for modifications or fitting aftermarket replacements. This solution ensures:

• stable seating in the console panel,
• proper interaction with the cigarette lighter socket and adjacent trim elements,
• preservation of the factory gaps and stylistic lines of the cockpit.

Performance characteristics and part condition

The cover comes from disassembly, so it has the status of a used original part. For many users, this is a beneficial solution – the element retains the factory fit and character of the Audi interior, while simultaneously allowing for an economical restoration of the center console's full functionality after damage or wear of the previous cover. Choosing an original, used cigarette lighter socket panel cover is particularly recommended for:

• local interior repairs after mechanical damage,
• comprehensive cockpit renovation while maintaining a factory look,
• preparing the car for sale, where a cohesive, well-maintained interior matters.

Integration with other Audi console elements

The cover works with other center console components, such as control panels, decorative frames, or storage compartment elements. This makes it possible to maintain the stylistic harmony and ergonomics intended by the manufacturer. Proper fitment is important not only visually but also practically – it reduces creaking, looseness, and unwanted vibrations while driving. If you are planning a comprehensive repair or upgrade of the center console area in your Audi and need other elements from the same group, such as control panels, decorative frames, or additional covers, check the available parts in the Audi Console Parts category.

Technical support and selecting the right part

Selecting the correct cigarette lighter socket panel cover for a specific version of the Audi A4 B8 or A5 8T should always be based on the vehicle's technical data and part catalog numbers. This helps avoid installation problems and ensures full compatibility with the existing center console.
