Purpose and fitment for BMW X5 E70 LCI

The presented glass was designed specifically as a side rear body component for the left side of the BMW X5 E70 after the facelift. The appropriate edge profiling and correct bending radius allow for precise seating in the body frame, which facilitates installation and reduces the risk of leaks. Thanks to its factory origin, parameters consistent with the manufacturer's design are maintained, which translates into proper compatibility with seals, trims, and other side body components.

Technical characteristics and color

The glass belongs to the Car windows category and serves as a fixed side glazing in the rear part of the body. Its placement in the rear left zone ensures proper visibility and illumination of the passenger or luggage compartment, while maintaining the structural rigidity of the body. The black color of the frame harmoniously blends with factory trims and seals, creating a visually consistent side strip, which is particularly important in premium class cars such as BMW.

Condition of the component and benefits of choosing a used part

The offered glass is a used component, which means it comes from vehicle dismantling and retains its factory structural parameters. In the case of older premium segment cars, choosing an original used glass is often a more predictable solution than installing a cheap replacement with uncertain glass and coating quality. The actual geometry, thickness, and edge finishing are consistent with the manufacturer's requirements, which promotes trouble-free installation and proper adhesion to the body. If you want to better understand why choosing proven components from dismantling is a reasonable choice for older premium models, read the article The myth of the perfect new part: why is a used factory part the only reasonable solution for older cars?, which discusses practical arguments for using original used parts.

Safety, functionality, and body application

As a side glazing component for the rear part of the body, the glass contributes to the protective barrier between the interior and the environment, influencing acoustic comfort, thermal insulation, and passive safety. A properly selected quarter glass limits stress within the window frame, which reduces the risk of cracks resulting from body work. Using the correct color and finish allows for maintaining a uniform look of the window line, which is important both aesthetically and in the event of a potential vehicle resale.
